Robert Ferrelle
Robert Ferrelle, LCSW is an individual and family therapist with a Masters of Social Work from the University for Georgia. Robert has 18 years of experience to the field and provides a compassionate approach while providing therapy. Robert believes self awareness and healthy relationships are at the core of an enjoyable life and a life well lived. He believes that everyone is always doing the best they can-and as self-knowledge increases, it is possible to “up our games” to live a life we are in love with. Personal self-awareness is crucial to all relationships, including the relationship with ourselves. Increased understanding about who we are, what our values are, what fascinates us and fuels our individual lives is an important part of the therapeutic effort-then the choice(s) for changing how we are “being” in our lives becomes possible.
Robert views his role as a therapist to include the priority of establishing a counseling environment that is respectful of the vulnerabilities of each client-without that little can truly be accomplished in the therapy realm. He practice’s with the intent of assisting those he work’s with to feel comfortable and know that he genuinely care’s about their well being. He sees each person’s “unfolding” as truly unique.
Robert believes kindness is a necessary and therapeutic element in assisting others as they seek betterment, joy and peacefulness in their lives. He strives to practice compassion in all his interactions. Looking for “win-win” outcomes and looking for possibilities that may not have been visible previously are enlivening.
Robert thinks we were placed on this earth to grow and thus evolve into the best version possible of ourselves.
When we are aware of what is interfering with that best version of ourselves, then we have the possibility of choosing another path for our daily living. Life is much about taking action, even in the face of fears. Courage can be defined as feeling the fear and stepping forward anyway. To him it is gratifying to be a witness to clients dealing with the challenges in their lives and moving forward.
Robert considers himself grateful as he sees clients deal with the challenges in their lives-it can be an experience worthy of your time. He believes that when we feel at peace within ourselves and “comfortable in our own skin” we can more naturally express the joyfulness and love that was within us from our making.
Robert has nearly 18 years experience in working with grief and loss through my hospice work. He has experience working with anxiety, depression and addictions issues. He loves working with individuals and couples of all ages and walks of life.
