Robert Ferrelle

Robert L. Ferrelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides psychotherapy for adults using an integrative, client-centered approach designed to strengthen resilience and support the restoration of balance and wholeness. His work is informed by several therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), mindfulness practices, attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Robert earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia and received his LCSW licensure in 2001. He remains committed to continuing education and professional growth, with an emphasis on Polyvagal-informed therapy, somatic practices, attachment theory, and Internal Family Systems. He completed Somatic Experiencing training in 2023 and EMDR basic level training in 2024.

Throughout his career, Robert has worked in a variety of clinical settings supporting individuals and families facing significant life challenges. His experience includes:

Inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, working with adults, adolescents, and families, and providing outpatient individual and group therapy for aftercare clients.
Public school system services, offering counseling, family support, and educational resources to families of four-year-old children through the Georgia Pre-K Program while serving as a Family Advocate in elementary school settings.
Hospice counseling and case management, providing eighteen years of support to terminally ill individuals and their families in home and community settings.
Veterans Administration clinical services at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia, providing care to military veterans through a community-based program. In 2018, Robert helped establish a new VA program delivering psychotherapy, group therapy, and case management services to veterans and their families experiencing significant mental health challenges, often including trauma.

Robert is also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the Georgia Air National Guard, which informs his deep understanding and commitment to serving veterans.

Since 2018, Robert has provided private practice therapy for adults and couples, offering both in-person and virtual sessions.
